Cardinal Fortunato Baldelli’s Unexpected Death, A Rare Demise Of A Cardinal Elector Creates A ‘Bluebird’ Vacancy.

It was just yesterday that Darien was calculating vacancies for the next cardinal creating consistory if it were to be later this year or early next year.

I had actually done a vacancy prediction chart in April — barring deaths. Well, now we have had an elector die, a rare occurrence, though we had two die last year. No cardinal electors died in 2010 or 2009. So cardinal elector deaths are still very unexpected — ‘bluebirds’ so to speak.

So now we have one more. I did a chart last night. That is now 1 out!

I am sorry to see Baldelli go. He seemed like a good ol’ fruit in terms of all I have heard and read. R.I.P.
