On Sunday, the pope, Benedict XVI (#266), much to my giddy amazement, used the very special code word ‘mystery‘ to justify clerical child abuse. That was pretty amazing. This pope, with his reputation for scholarship, throwing up his hands and saying: ‘Beats me. Beyond my pay grade. Ask the boss‘.
Now, his #2, and possibly successor, the eminent, Lord Bertone, Secretary of State and Camerlengo, blames the DEVIL for Vatileaks! What the devil is going on at the Vatican? This to me is Vatican code. Lord Bertone, one of the most astute men in Rome, also mentions my fellow New Hampshirite (and my hero) Dan Brown. This is scary. You would have thought that all the relics and icons in and around the Vatican would have kept the devil away from its haloed halls. But, I think it was a figure of speech. Lord Bertone, in my opinion (and as ever I could be dead wrong), is telling us ‘Peter the Roman‘ is in play. Think about it.
